Poverty Does Not Cause Terrorism

Here's something you don't see every day: An ivy-league study that is opposed to Marxism. Instead of a nation's wealth being the determinative property, it seems that (surprise surprise) lack of political freedom leads terror, unless it it stifled by a draconian regime.
In the past, we heard people refer to the strong link between terrorism and poverty, but in fact when you look at the data, it's not there

Wait, a Marxist claim that was not based on actual analysis of the facts? Surely this is without precedent!

Freedom is more important than whether or not the populous can afford what they want to have. Score one for Hegel (and every Enlightenment thinker before him) contra Marx.

Political freedom is merely a scrap from the bougeois table thrown to the proletariat to keep it satisfied without endangering the truly superior position of the capitalists. Hegel was merely spokesman for this essentially Zionist concept of a freedom that is only so in name; true freedom comes from recognizing the essentially economic basis for class relations and eliminating those distinctions by means of socialist revolution.

Marxism definitely is not a concept adopted by manipulative revolutionary leaders to garner support for a revolution that installs those leaders so that they may enjoy totalitarian reign at the expense of the very disgruntled workers whose violent rebellion put those leaders on power. No. Certainly not. Only the capitalists, those dirty capitalists, use ideology as a method of control.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
