Poverty Does Not Cause Terrorism

Here's something you don't see every day: An ivy-league study that is opposed to Marxism. Instead of a nation's wealth being the determinative property, it seems that (surprise surprise) lack of political freedom leads terror, unless it it stifled by a draconian regime.
In the past, we heard people refer to the strong link between terrorism and poverty, but in fact when you look at the data, it's not there

Wait, a Marxist claim that was not based on actual analysis of the facts? Surely this is without precedent!

Freedom is more important than whether or not the populous can afford what they want to have. Score one for Hegel (and every Enlightenment thinker before him) contra Marx.

Peter Jennings

Did this man not look like he wanted both to cry and to lash out? He was absolutely fuming at the results. He was extremely bothered by the idea that Kerry had in fact lost, though CNN and ABC clung to their forlorn hope well past the point of any reasonable doubt.

Given Mr. Jennings's demeanor on this and every other night, I an inclined not to accept this victory humbly but to give the man his due:

With all due respect (i.e. none), get off your knees and stop fellating the Democratic party.
