Thank Goodness This Isn't a Crisis

It's remarkable that Sarah Palin continues to attract more attention than Joe Biden.

Joe Biden is, if you recall, the Vice President of the United States. If Sarah Palin is a flake (and she may be!), Joe Biden is a truckload of Corn Flakes. If we were to adjust the flakiness of their respective personalities by their actual potential to influence events, we would expect Joe Biden's bizarre behavior to receive massively more attention than Sarah Palin's.

But here we are. And there, down the toilet, goes our country. You might catch a glimpse of it, between the coverage of Michael Jackson's funeral and some dilettantish analysis of Palin's putative neuroses.
